Q: What
Procedure Does A Project Follow?
A: For any large project we go through seven phases:
- Consultation. In an initial
consultation with the client, we get to know each other, deciding if we can work together.
Then we try to understand the client's needs, likes, and living patterns.
- Agreement. We come to an
agreement with the client on the basic parameters of the project
scope, client's budget, and general timing and on our payment requirements.
- Design. We develop a design
concept through conversations with the client and analysis of the space and existing
furnishings.
- Presentation. We help the client
visualize our ideas through the use of photos, floor plans, and swatches of color,
fabrics, and wall coverings.
- Budget. Once the client agrees
on the design, we develop a detailed budget and schedule for the client's approval.
- Implementation. During this
phase, we order furnishings and materials, and use our stable of resources for custom
work. We coordinate activities with construction and painting contractors.
- Installation. We personally
oversee the installation and placement of the furnishings, bringing the design concept to
life.
Q: How Do you Get Paid?
A: Our design fee is based on an hourly rate. There is no charge
for the first hour of the initial consultation.
Q: How Does The Client Pay For Goods and Services?
A: For each item, we require a 50% deposit to initiate the order.
The remainder is due upon delivery or installation.
Q: What Arrangements Are Made With Contractors?
A: For painting/decorating and construction services, we will
make recommendations of contractors who have worked successfully on other projects or who
are particularly suited for a specific job. Our clients come to separate agreements with
whatever contractors they choose. It is part of our service to coordinate the job with the
chosen contractor.
